What is the Congregation at Prayer?
The Congregation at Prayer is a weekly devotional and catechetical guide for use in the home and the congregation.  The Congregation at Prayer unites the congregation around the same sections of the Word of God and catechism, and gives a common language for prayer and meditation upon the Scriptures. 

Why use the Congregation at Prayer?
The Congregation at Prayer aids in establishing a culture of prayer and catechesis in the Lutheran home and congregation and in passing on the language of the faith to the next generation.
 

How to use the Congregation at Prayer?
On Sunday mornings the Pastor introduces portions of the material to the congregation during the Sunday School and Adult Bible Class opening.  This introduction helps to gather the entire congregation together around the same diet of the Word of God in their weekly and daily devotions.  

Families and/or individuals then use the order of devotion and suggested readings in their own homes.  As family size and age dictate you will pray and confess out loud as much as possible.  Special attention is given to learning by heart the verse of the week, the catechism for the week and the hymn of the week.  This is best done by repeating these portions of the Congregation at Prayer on a daily basis and out loud, whether as an individual or with others in the household.  Each week the resource is available at the Church or by downloading it from this page.
